I think we need a "no idea is a bad idea .. yet" thread. Y'know, to
store all the ideas that spill out of everyone's heads. Like this

I think a Magic - The Gathering would kind of fit the bill. What with
all the character cards.

I wouldn't mind a regular deck of cards, but with rearranged suits/
pictures and such. With the advent of the internet I almost never
play card games with actual cards and I used to play with my gran. I
get nostalgic for real cards sometimes.

I know nothing of Magic The Gathering cards, except that they exist.
I suppose if we're making up our own game/rules, that would be the
logical way to go.

A regular or tarot deck will be the easiest to make. In fact, we won't
really need to design a new game around the cards and jump right into
art, art, and more art.

A MtG-style deck will be considerably more work. While I'm not against
'more work', it's important that everyone knows the increased scope:
most likely a 200-card deck.

Of course there's many simple card games than MtG. We could have a
rummy style game, Uno, War, etc..

A tarot deck would be a good compromise between relative ease, game
mechanics, and design flexibility (a suit of red balloons, replace the
major arcana with posters or threads, etc.). A regular deck limits you
to really 12 character cards.
