I read Anna’s letter with interest. Not having been present during the event, I can’t claim truth or lies.
But, the fact so many others have described negligent behavior from Anna and friends during several other regrettable interactions, her version seems sketchy.
And, it seems she believes attacking another dog is simple and acceptable dominance posturing? She needs some education.
I do agree with one thing Anna said; I believe posting her address was out of line. But, that’s my opinion, not an accusation.
I’m pleased she has been contacted by authorities. Perhaps she’ll be more careful in the future.

Sorry.  I just wrote back but did not post to googlegroups.   Here is what I wrote, now to googlegroups:

Dear Anna,
Thank you for writing to us and talking about our concerns.

I am glad that you care about people’s issues around your dog and what you call his dominance behavior.   Given that behavior and the fact that more than one person has expressed concerns about Hayduke, I would like to request that you keep him on a leash at all times when he is not in a fenced yard.  It sounds as if he is just one of those dogs that need to be under control in case of both foreseeable and unforeseeable circumstances  It can be a long leash, a loose one as you run, but you would always be in immediate control, and we would be less afraid for our own dogs.
I am sure you mean it when you say you will work on Hayduke's recall, but you can perhaps understand that that intention, however sincere, does not ensure that our dogs will be safe. It would be much better if you can tell us that we can be sure.

Thanks very much for considering this request.

Cheryl  Stevenson

PS.  Anna, if you want to reply to the listserv from here, I think you can just reply all.
