thank you for the chat just now over the phone and your willingness to help. We are looking for 40 youth in Mitchell’s Plain and 40 Gugulethu for a 6 months opportunity that includes
- 2 month long community service component: the youth will be placed in local schools in the area and will assist with after school programs (reading clubs, homework clubs, sports programs) as well as assisting teachers and staff in any other duties identified by the school. This component includes a 1 week work readiness and life skills training. The youth get a stipend of R 1500 per month for the community service/life skills training
- 4 month long business training and incubator program during which the youth start their businesses and get mentored running it. 20 sessions twice a week for the first five weeks, then once a week for 10 weeks. Session is 3 hours. There is no stipend for the business incubator program.
The candidates for this program should fit the following profile
• Aged 18-35
• Preferably have matrix cerfiticate but not essential
• Must be able to communicate well in English - speaking, writing and understanding
• Must not be employed or full time student
• Demonstrate a commitment to personal development
• Preferably have demonstrated a keen intreset in starting a business
The candidates should also have the following qualities
• be a self starter
• Motivated and enthusiastic
• Willing to contribute with an investment of money, time and effort

The meeting where we interview and recruit all candidates will take place in
- Mitchell’s Plain this week Friday 2 pm in the Town Centre (Khulisa office, 2nd floor opposite to Kentucky and above the 24 hr shop)
- Gugulethu this week Thursday 1 pm (we are still looking for a venue)
