Patrick / Jay Meeting % admin fees

So at the meeting we had today, everything went pretty well for most of it. 

Primarily with the 990 and taxes everything was great.

As far as the % admin fee discussion, in my perspective that discussion did not go so well.

A few new things came up like money passing from EdFund to the WCTC and being spend within the WCTC that we had never herd about before. Also Patrick is proposing to not having any fees on the funds passed through from the EdFund. Furthermore Patrick is proposing no fees on the money that came into WCTC that they did not get grants for and it was not tax deducted. At this time I do not know what the totals are on those, but we are talking many $10,000’s. Also Patrick mentioned going out of his way to work with donors to bring in $26,000 into the new BAC accounts to avoid fees, and also that there are many complications of funds between BAC & DS in terms of the % admin fees. 

This is a lot to handle and it seems to me that at such a low rate of 3% this should not be much of an issue, but here we are as it seems to be a very big issue.

My primary question to Patrick is what his overall intention in this process with the % admin fees?  I would like to better understand where he is coming from as I don’t really understand.

My request is simply to put aside a small amount of money in the range of the potential % admin fees owed, (currently $2,000-$3,000) and put it into the joint account, or in a kind of escrow. I am trying to work together to get agreement on this, but to no avail. WCTC technically has the legal right to initiate the escrow to protect itself, but I just feel that it would be really silly for us not to be able to get to agreement on this, for me it is pretty minor and is like 1/10th of the value of all the work that I do for DS, BAC and Patrick, and I never get paid, ever, and none of this money even goes to me, it goes to support the umbrella and cover the costs to support the programs. If we had any extra money, which of course we are not going to have cause it is so little, we would use it towards global transformation and harmony with the planet. I don’t see how that would be of concern to anyone.

I would like to request to talk with Mel, and Erika, as well as Patrick to talk more about this before meeting in-person again. It seems like Patrick is requesting an other in-person meeting, and maybe we should all be there to try to work this out.

But overall after this meeting although I feel better about the taxes and finances for WCTC, I feel much worse in where we are regarding the % admin fee.

Hi all,

I am feeling that Jay is emotionally distressed about this and I do not feel comfortable moving forward talking about any work related issues until we have an emotion related conversation. I am ok with this just being Jay and I, or for it being with the four of us.
