Hi,

Does anybody know if Lightroom supports multiple users working on the
same catalogue simultaneously (i.e. storing the db on a network share
and sharing it among the users) ?

Cheers,
Oliver

Hey Oliver,

I think it depends a bit on your workflow. As far as I understand it,
it's easy enough to
have to copies of LR point to the same catalogue and use it (on a
network share). I
would be very careful when it comes to accessing it simultaneously
though. IIRC the
catalogue is built as a SQLite DB and I could see a lot of havoc
coming from having
true concurrency on it. That would most likely be "Try on your own
risk" :)

Hi,

That's what I'm concerned about - I'd need simultaneous access for 3
users - without any havoc and risk involved ;-)

Can somebody confirm?

Cheers,
Oliver

Oliver, multi user is NOT supported at the moment. As Kai has stated
the database is SQL lite which is single user only. When LR is open
a .lock file is created.
I seem to remember a work around being discussed on Lightroom Forums
so you may want to ask there: http://www.lightroomforums.net/
If you want you can also contact me directly with your why you want
this as there may be other ways.
