Janice, please see horrendous story below. I have recommended that if it has not already been done that the mother report as a missing child at SAPS. She further requires counselling over this period.
Could you kindly also use your network to try and find this child.

Subject: Missing boy
Dear Pat
Please may I ask for your assistance in finding the only son of my domestic helper.
His name is Mbasa, 16 years old. Born 18.02.1999.
He has been a pupil at the Salesian College opposite the Cape Quarter in Cape Town.
Apparently he was absent from school on Friday.
He disappeared from home in Nyanga on Saturday morning and returned home on Sunday, looking very scruffy and was trembling. His mother asked him where he had been and he told her that he had been far away "in the hills" and that his mother would not be allowed to go there. He said that he had slept on a floor and had not been given any food to eat. She said that he looked very scared. He then told her that he would be going away again and would not return. He disappeared on Sunday afternoon.
He is an only child, brought up by his mother, Nobesuthu. Her phone number is: 083 773 2991.
She is afraid of the bad influence of other boys in gangs, so during holidays he usually goes to the Eastern Cape to stay with his grandparents in the countryside. He enjoys playing soccer.
If you have any leads, we would be so grateful to you. I shall attach 2 photos of him.
Kind regards
Sue Millar
