So I've been flying under the radar for the past little bit, sorry
about that. Mostly lack of motivation, not helped by lack of
non-emulator testing environment :P But that's recently changed.
Picked up an SGS2 (awwww jeaahh lol), spent a bunch of time last
weekend pimping it out and now I've started picking up the pace a bit
with projects.
I think we're a bit farther away than a couple quick hack sessions,
tbh. But, while messing around with another project yesterday, I
learned some new tricks that I think we can use to simplify things a
bunch, keep most of the app in one activity. Along the lines of what
you were suggesting in terms of a cludge revolving around invisible
tab switcher, only there is actually API for this: ViewFlipper! I
will be getting it working nicely in this other project probably later
this weekend (will send a link once pushed in case anyone's
interested), so next weekend maybe I can apply the same to WCS. Swipe
to move between steps too!
A meet could be nice, but I'd like to give this ViewFlipper refactor a
shot before then. So that would mean not until next weekend,
probably. If you're looking for something interesting to hack on, a
widget for selecting points on an image comes to mind. I have a
feeling it'll be kind of twitchy to implement that.
An aside: I got set up with space at marketcrashers (hackerspace just
off Lansdowne station) as part of rhok prizes, and they're cool if I
have an extra person or two around sometimes. So that's an option for
a place to meet, and it even has reliable wifi :)
