Here are complete details about the Davis tourney ... Please note
carefully the important items at the TOP ...

I need the final team rosters by midnight Monday 2/4.

IMPORTANT: People under the age of 18 who will be attending or
participating in the tournament, and who will not be accompanied by a
parent or guardian, will need to complete the attached waivers in
advance and have their parent or guardian sign the waivers.

EVERYONE will need to bring a photo ID to access the facility.

PLEASE forward this to your team members.

USRA MEMBERSHIPS: For new or renewed memberships, EACH INDIVIDUAL MUST
PROVIDE a CHECK or CREDIT CARD information; NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.

START TIMES

- Sat Feb 9, 2013
- Players can arrive as early as 8:30am
- The tourney will start at 9:00am
- Start times will be available on Friday 2/8


ACCESS TO ARC
---------------------
- UC Davis does _not_ have an open door access policy to the ARC facility.
- Participants NEED TO BRING A PHOTO ID
- Guests NEED TO BRING A PHOTO ID
- I will NEED GUEST NAMES by Friday afternoon.
- You will need to sign a liability waiver and get a wrist band just
inside the entrance to the ARC; there will be a table set up for this.


TOURNAMENT COSTS & FOOD

Team captains will need to collect in advance either cash or checks for
the following, per person, and bring this to the tournament:

- $10 tournament registration fee � pay by cash, or checks made out to
"John Bardos"
(I pay for the food, racquetballs, USRA sanctioning, etc.)

- You must be a USRA (US Racquetball Association) member .. You can
check on your membership status online at
http://usra.org/
Under 21 = $25
Over 21 = $50
Limited one event membership = $10

EACH INDIVIDUAL MUST PAY BY A SEPARATE CHECK made out to "US Racquetball
Association", or provide credit card information; NO CASH WILL BE
ACCEPTED for USRA memberships. This is only required if the person is
not already an active USRA member; let me know if you need assistance
determining USRA status. For more details, see http://www.usra.org and
click "Member Services".

Lockers - People can use day lockers on a first come first served basis
and should bring their own locks.

Towels - You will need to bring your own towels.

NOTE: As with all of the facilities that we use, we need to be careful
about where we place bags, chairs, etc. Please keep bags and chairs next
to the courts, and away from any exercise equipment, open areas, and
walk ways.


DIRECTIONS
For most people heading north-east towards Sacramento ...
- Take I-80 East toward Sacramento
- Merge onto Highway 113 (North, toward Woodland)
- Take the Hutchinson Rd. exit
- Merge right off exit
- Turn left on Larue Rd
- The ARC is on the right.
- Go into parking lot.


PARKING
Parking is free!

people!

Hi All,

Attached are the draws for this Saturday's tourney.

Let me know ASAP if there are any changes.

The "majority opinion" so far is round robin for Mens 1 w/ 7 people.
That's a lot of matches, but we will do _short_ matches. Downside: short
matches. Upside: you play many more people. With 7 people, if we do a
straight draw, someone will likely just play two matches.

Womens 1 has 6 people, and we will play to do shorter matches as well.
Again, leaning towards playing more people for variety, rather than just
a few long matches.

Mens 3 is divided into 2 groups: A and B. The winner from A will play
the winner from B to determine the top 2 point allocations and the
overall winner; all other point allocations within each group are as if
each group were just the entire division.
