Dear SAMA Members

The Department of Education has sent out a call for comments open until the 19^th of April on the new CAPS History curriculum. See the address to send comments to on paragraph 8.

My colleague Prof Amanda Esterhuyzen has made the following request:

"Please find the copy of the gazette attached. Please encourage people to endorse the addition of archaeology in history, but also make suggestions about content they feel should be added. It would be particularly useful if educationists at site museums would lend support."

This is a unique opportunity to directly influence the future of Heritage education in South Africa. I hope that you will consider supporting this cause and forwarding this to your broader network in time.
