Hi :

I have read something like TFI ( Transport Format Indicator), TFCI (
Transport Format Combination Indicator) in UMTS specs.
Can someone please explain what these terms mean and how they are
used?
Also what is CCTrCH ( Code composite Transport Channel) ??

Thanks in advance.

Prathap.

hi,

The TFI indicates the FORMAT of the FRAME ( the content of the SLOT)
1FRAME has 15SLOTS.. The TFI indicates the what rate code for error
corection, data rate, and number of pilot symbols etc..

you can find more details from the www.3gpp.org site.. the 25.xxx
series documents have for FDD & TDD WCDMA specificatins.. for PHY
layer..

gud luck

Hi Wirelessman:

Thanks for the pointers.
To some extant I understand TFI and TFCI. But, how can PHY multiplex
two different transport channels??

Does PHY multiplex DCH1, DCH2 of two different UE's?
What does this multiplexing mean? Does this mean that PHY can
transmit data from
two different transport channels on a single radio frame?

If DCH1, DCH2 are using two different chanelization codes ( different
SF as well), how can PHY multiplex them on the same Frame?

Regards,
Prathap.
