On October 24, Planet Ultra will host, on behalf of the Breast Cancer
Network of Strength, the second annual Ride To Empower.
http://ride.networkofstrength.org/page.aspx?pid=889
The event is a fundraiser for the Network of Strength, which provides
support, information and education for anyone touched by breast cancer
to assure that noone faces breast cancer alone.
Breast Cancer Network of Strength uniquely provides peer support
through YourShoes™, a 24/7 breast cancer support center staffed by
breast cancer survivors who know first-hand what it is like to walk in
the shoes of someone who is facing the disease. NoS is also committed
to offering wigs and breast prostheses for women with limited
resources through the Wig & Prosthesis Bank.
Network of Strength also provides the ShareRing Network: A free,
monthly teleconference that focuses on health issues and quality-of-
life concerns that affect survivors, including relationships, stress
management, coping skills and side effect management.
The 2008 Ride To Empower was an emotional and inspiring event -
attended by at least a dozen breast cancer survivors. Two cyclists,
both still in treatment, completed the entire challenging century in
Solvang, California.
We're honored to be a part of the 2009 event. There are still a few
spots for riders -- and we're also looking for staff members and women
who'd like to do hill repeats to encourage the slower riders up the
climbs.
If you're interested in helping out at this wonderful event, please
send an email to embassy AT
planetultra.com.
Please forward this to anyone you think may be interested in being
part of the Las Vegas Ride To Empower.
Thank you.
