Hello Everyone,
I’m reaching out to the collegiate community regarding the upcoming Bicycle Race Referee Class on Saturday, January 17th, in Fremont.
This is our only scheduled training for the 2026 season. To ensure we can move forward with the class and provide the necessary staffing for this year’s race calendar, we need to finalize our registration numbers this week.
Why this matters The NCNCA relies on a dedicated group of officials to keep our races safe and fair. We are currently in a transition period as several veteran officials prepare for retirement. To maintain the frequency and quality of racing in our region, it is vital that we bring in a new group of officials.
How you can get involved If you’ve considered officiating, I encourage you to sign up. If you aren't able to join, please share this with your teammates, alumni, or friends who want to support the community. While these roles are compensated—which can help with the costs of being a student-athlete—the most significant impact is ensuring our local race scene remains sustainable.
The class will be led by Eve Ben-Ora and is designed to provide the comprehensive foundation needed to get you ready to serve as a certified USA Cycling referee.
Thank you for your time and for everything you do to keep the collegiate racing scene active. Please reach out if you have any questions about the certification process.
