Drop me a note if you have or plan to register for this event...the cycling event planner (and on the board for the State Sr. games), Dean Wilkinson, with Matrix in Dallas, was interested in a head count from our area and was encouraging our participation.
I'll forward a description of the race routes to anyone who wants it...just give me a reply.
The referenced state games will be held in San Antonio, March 29-30.

Are you looking to warm-up for the Texas State Senior Games?
The City of College Station is hosting the 2014 Brazos Valley Senior Games Feb. 20-23. The Senior Games promote physical and mental health and fitness among Texas Senior Citizens by encouraging them to maintain healthy lifestyles and social relationships, to participate in sports and recreational activities with other seniors, and to provide an environment for athletic competition.
Ages 50+ can compete in track & field, swimming, 3-on-3 basketball, basketball skills, cycling, horseshoes, washers, archery, tennis, bowling, 5k, pickleball, golf, ladies volleyball, 42, and disc golf. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded in each event and age group.
Registration runs through Feb. 7 and the fee is $25 plus additional fees per event. For more information, see the attached registration packed or visit www.cstx.gov/seniors.

If you turn 50 on or before 12.31.2014…in other words, were born in 1954, you are eligible! (I missed my first year of eligibility 12 years ago by not knowing this!) There are cycling events, but also track and field, swimming, and other sports….even golfing, tennis, bowling, pickleball and horseshoes! At the state games, there is a sprint Tri competition.
