March 8th - Allendale Century

Courtesy of Jim McCrosky.....we are looking to do a century from Allendale Baptist Church (FM 1314 just S. of FM 242) on Saturday March 8th.

 

Here's the route:

Bonus:...looks like we can schedule a stop at Southern Star Brewing at mile 75 for a cold one!!!

 

 

Sunrise on the 8ths will be at 6:41am, so suggesting a 6:30 meet/6:45 depart (weather/temps permitting)..............Note: we change clocks the next morning ("spring back"!

OK all....weather looks good for Saturday....low 50s to mid 60s, only 10% chance of rain and mild winds.  We are good to go!

All,

Had a super ride on Saturday with Jim Mc, Mike A, Jesse, my buddy Will and myself.  Finished with about 101 miles, 19.5 mph ave.  Nice weather....a bit of light misting but never got soaked.  Unfortunately, Jesse had a tubular mechanical at mile 40 and had to get sagged home.  Beer stop at Southern Star at mi 75 was nice (guy opened up the place for us early!).   Learned another microbrewery is going in on FM 105 by the lake (Conroe).  Pretty soon we'll be able to be a 3 (or 4) brewery century route!

I'm out on a 400k this weekend then the following will be in Dubai for business and Oman over the weekend (going to get a ride in with a local club)!!!  I'm planning to be back March 29th....and will be ready for another century!

Thanks for putting out the ride report.  I got so busy doing spring yard clean up I totally forgot about writing a report.
