All,

Back from the UK and looking to set up a couple of rides for the
weekend.

Am thinking of an 80-100 miler on Saturday (Am thinking we could do a
ride that covers parts of the Houston Ironman route?) and doing the
"Friday route" from the Allendale Baptist Chuch (FM 1314 just S. of FM
242)..which can be between 50 and 70 miles.

Who's around/interested?

Greg. I rode last Sat & the heat was intense after 11am. It was the hottest day. I would be interested if the ride starts early & finish early.

Jesse,

I absolutely agree....My goal would be to start at 6:15am (sunrise is
at 6:20) both days.

So, for Saturday, a 6:15am start gives us about 5 hours of decent
total time available to be back by 11:15 latest. At a 20 mph ave with
+30-45 mins of break over 1-2 stops....I'm figuring a ride of no more
85-90 miles.

How about this 86 miler starting from behind the Exxon at Woodlands
Pkwy/2978.....loosely based on the Ironman Texas route...but covers
roads we ride all the time.

Greg,

I agree getting really warm by 11:30. Saturday at the Exxon, 6:15 start is
good for me.

Jesse ,

Easy enough to tweak this. Cutting the loop out of Richards to just
heading south to Dacus shortens to 74 miles.

OK... is anyone joining on Monday?

So far only negatives ...which is good to know.

Orlando and I are definitely riding. Will be a more relaxed pace than
most ultramiler rides. I promise.... ; - )

Weather looks pretty good with temps from low 70s to low 80s from the
6:30 to 10:30 period.

OK.. so now Orlando has bailed....so will likely just ride from
home.....unless someone else is coming out....
