Sat Mar 23rd - Time for the Loop of Livingston Lake!

Think it is time to do our Loop of Livingston Lake ride. 7:30 am
start at the San Jacinto County Courthouse in Coldspring. 100 miles
with 4k of climbing including a fabulous finish up 224.

You got my attention! Have never done the loop...it always sounded like
"fun" when y'all would report on it in the past, and looks like a really
good route...especially the past 5 miles! Having spent this morning going
out and back on it four times, doing it after 95 miles would be interesting.
I'm going to try to make it.

I hope to ride on Saturday, it is one of the best routes, but can’t commit until later in the week.   I may have to go to a meeting on Sat.  I sure haven’t ridden much so far this year.  Excuses include the trip to Hawaii in Feb and just got back today from the beach in SC.

I knew we were going to take my oldest son out to dinner Saturday. He had
to make an early reservation at the restaurant. We have to leave for the
other side of Houston by 3:00. Unfortunately that will not give me enough
time to ride the Livingston loop and get back in time.
Also I will be out for the following two weekends. Going to North Carolina
to see our new grandson.

I just realized that my son has a track meet on Saturday.

Would anyone be interested in shifting to Sunday? If it doesn't work,

Sunday might work; Sat the 30th is a possibility as well...but the ranger on
duty at Wolf Creek park said something about a ride on Easter weekend when I
told him about the Cold Spring road race the first Saturday in May.

All,

So, he here's what I'm thinking:

Sat: "Do the Friday" route from Allendale Baptist Church (just S. of
242 on 1314)....roughly 60 miles starting at say 7:30....Note there is
a risk of severe thunderstorms at the moment so will need to monitor

Sun: Meet up in Coldspring and to the 100 miler. Meet 7:30 and
depart before 8:00am (target 7:45).

FYI - I've been down with the flu all week so far....so will likely be
hanging on!

I've got at least 3 of us interested in the Sunday ride (possbily 3
more if Steve, Jim and by friend Bob Scott can make it).

Hmmmmm....I have a client meeting scheduled at 3 pm Sunday...Start at 8 am,
6 hours including stops ?? (I hate stops, except for quick masters breaks)
puts us back in CS at 2 pm...that's tight...could bring my client meeting
clothes with me and my client lives in Carriage Hills off of 1488...doable?

7:30 AM roll out should work, if the forecast winds (NW ) 15-25 mph don't
blow us backwards! Sunday is the Double Lake TMBRA mountain bike race too,
but they won't be going around Lake Livingston.

Alternatively, what about Saturday, March 30th?
