Sept. 21
From the PNN News Desk... Thank you for joining us for a special edition of PNN. We apologize for the delay in our reports, but the News Desk was relocated due to some unpleasantness. We hope that everyone has had a wonderful Friday, and is looking forward to the exciting events to be held at the WCC Compound. In an effort to bring you the most extensive coverage, we’ll coordinate with our sister networks, the FNN (Feline News Network) and the BDN (Big Dog Network), as well as hearing reports from our freelance team. As we begin our coverage, we would like to share some earlier reports from Sandydogs, who was covering the story at the WCC compound...
Sandydogs here, while the camera is down I'm stepping out on a limb, reporting for Puparazzi Tonight on PNN. I'm heading out to Brookeville, Maryland to report on tomorrow's Warrior Canine Connection gala event. Word on the street is that a grand family reunion is planned and that pups from all over will be converging at the family home of Rick, Molly & Mia for the festivities about 1:00 p.m. I have not yet been able to confirm, but rumors are that Snoop Dog, Presidential Pooch Bo, Lassie and other celebrities will attend the event. I have it from a very reliable source that Levi and Gracie have been whisked away for last minute spa treatments to ensure they are sparkling for the abundance of puparazzi photographers expected at the event tomorrow. More details as they become available. Please note if there is breaking news from Molly online, reporting activities will be postponed. From this intrepid reporter to all EPWs, please keep peace & harmony going on our last night together. With high hopes that Scout is back at the PNN News Desk, this is Sandydogs reporting. Woof Out.
(Unfortunately, the News Desk was not set up in the new studio when this report went out, and we were unable to reply to Sandydogs at this time)
Sandydogs here reporting for Puparazzi Tonight! on PNN. I’m here in Brookeville tonight at WCC and there is no sign of thunderstorms, accidents, winds or other phenomenon that would explain the camera blackout for the last few hours. However, there are signs of pupspicious activity at WCC headquarters. I’m still a block away from the compound, but can hear booming sounds coming from the family home. I’m moving closer to see if I can determine the source of the reverberating sounds…..closer…..closer….Not sure if you can still hear me with all the racket in the background…. “WHO LET THE DOGS OUT? WHO? WHO? WHO?” Oh my goodness, frizbees are flying, balls are chucking, and there’s a big red dog running the deejay stand digging on Baha Boys. There does not appear to be any adult supervision at the property. It appears I may be witnessing the puppy equivalent of a bachelor party before the “big event” tomorrow. Back to the empty chair (sniff) at PNN News headquarters. Sandydogs Woof Out.
(Unfortunately, the News Desk was set up in the new studio when this report went out, but the teleprompter wasn’t plugged in)
From the PNN News Desk... From Sandydogs’ report, it appears there was a celebration happening this evening at the WCC Compound. We are trying to confirm if the party was for “puppies only” or if the cats and Big Dogs were included in the festivities. There certainly is cause for celebration as last two puppies are preparing for the transition to their new homes with their puppy parents. We’ll now turn to an interview with Huff (from the BDN) for a report on the WCC program and what these puppies can expect the next few years to be like. Huff?...
Good evening everybody, Huff here from the Big Dog Network, and thanks for tuning in. For those of you who are new to the puppy cam, the six puppies will be placed with Puppy Parents for about 2 years, while working on socialization skills, being part of a family, and additional training with a wounded warrior trainer. Once the puppy has completed their training, they will then be evaluated and placed with their “Forever Family”, which will include a soldier who is suffering from PTSD. These puppies will receive specific training to assist recovering soldiers as they acclimate to living with PTSD. I’ve been through the training these little squirts are going to face, and I know each one of them is going to be terrific! You’ll want to stay posted on each puppy’s DogFace page to track their progress. I’ll bring you more about some of the places these puppies will train in the next segment. For now, back to you in the studio...
From the PNN News Desk... Thanks for that informative report, Huff. Incidentally, for those of you who are not aware, Huff has quite a remarkable record with the WCC, and travels frequently with Rick to promote the program. We appreciate the time to help our readers learn about the WCC. Now, let’s head back out to the WCC Compound to get an update...
Sneaks from the FNN reporting here, live from the WCC Compound... Well, the evening’s festivities have died down, and the puppies are safely tucked in their crates for the night. Molly was tired and called an early evening. Apparently, there will be a lot of people here tomorrow having yet another get-together for these furballs. Honestly, we don’t understand what all of the fuss is about, they are just puppies. We have heard some talk of Levi and Grace leaving, which makes us wonder... will we finally get a chance to star in our own show? Back to you in the studio...
From the PNN News Desk... Thanks for the update, Sneaks. We hope you’ll keep an eye on things overnight and let us know of any new developments. We would now like to go back to Huff for a follow-up report on the WCC program and what the puppies can expect in their training. Huff?...
Thanks PNN, Huff here. I’d like to tell you about a special place some of these puppies will work. I am lucky to be able to go there with Rick and the people there are great. The place is the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), and they do amazing work with combat veterans suffering from PTSD. The lucky puppies who get to come here will work with a soldier with PTSD who will train the puppy to become sensitive to changes in voice, behavior, or other indications that the soldier is becoming tense or overwhelmed. It will be the puppy’s job to intervene and help the soldier get through the moment. Unfortunately, there is no “cure” for PTSD, but there are strategies that the soldiers, and their canine companion, can learn to help them cope. For those of you who would like to learn more about the NICoE, I encourage you to visit their website at: http://www.nicoe.capmed.mil/SitePages/Home.aspx Now, back to the PNN News Desk.
From the PNN News Desk... Wow, Huff, the NICoE truly is an amazing place. Thank you for sharing it with us. We would now like to turn to Palady, who is bringing us a report from Mittens. Palady?...
Palady here... Wait. I DO have a report from Mittens. He is totally disgusted with the fact two of the most important crew members, especially regarding the in-house webcam and pen, have not even been mentioned! Riley and Bean (code names "Tuxedo" and "Sneak"), I, Mittens, salute you for any mischief you may have caused with the camera angle, blurriness, whatever. These pups got far too much attention and you both were left out. Out of sight, but not forgotten! Mittens, over and out. Back to the studio...
