As I was surfing this June
(on the Internet, not the ocean),
I came across a website
with fur-covered commotion.
Six adorable puppies,
And mother, Holly, too,
Surrounded by a mountain of toys
Ready for a chew.
How quickly these pups
Became my daily obsession.
" I can't work now, the puppies are playing"
Was my frequent confession.
Every chance I had,
I'd tune in to watch them play,
Or just to read what the other
EPW's would have to say.
Patient Holly,
So nurturing and loving,
You have given so much joy,
With this litter, your half dozen.
Sweet Levi, Ruby, and Penny
Precious Abby, Lucy, and Grace
You've each made me laugh,
And helped keep a smile on my face.
Affectionate Levi,
The lone male in the pack.
The blue elephant slide
Provided the perfect launch for your sneak attack.
Adorable Ruby,
Who never causes a moment's fuss.
With your gentle demeanor,
you'll be easy for a soldier to trust.
Bright little Penny,
So eager to please.
She will be perfect therapy
For a wounded soldier's needs.
Dear little Abby,
so attentive and smart,
You've proven yourself
And are off to a wonderful start.
Our energetic Lucy,
what can I say?
Your spunkiness and tenacity
Will surely help others every day.
Beautiful Grace,
Joyful and sweet,
The love that you give
Will help everyone you meet.
Thank you to Molly, Rick,and Mia
For sharing these wonderful pups,
and your peaceful, lovely home
with each one of us.
Each puppy has a future
of helping others learn to cope.
But each one them
Has already given all of us such hope.
