If everyone could email me an update by Friday that would be really helpful.
Thanks!
Katharine
Jie: We were thinking the next step for the survey would be creating
some summary slides. Let me know if you want some help on this.
Jannie: I'm going to follow up with you briefly about our request for
funding from WCC, but they don't seem thrilled with the idea so we may
want to think of some back up plans.
Katelyn: Now that you have some of the survey data back I think your
workstream is easier to finish up, but let me know if you need help.
Sonia: I think we decided we would just work on putting your slides
into a form we an present with key takeaways. Let me know if I can
help with this as well.
Theresa: If you have time this week or next we can get together to
work on the overview slides.
Lauren: I know you mentioned you might be willing / interested to do
another analysis since your slides were in good shape. Do you have any
interest in working (potentially with Katelyn) on marketing best
practices (we can discuss exactly what those would be in more detail)?

Happy Holidays and New Years’ Greetings to the WCC! I hope all of you
are doing well and enjoying a well-deserved break.
I want to pass along an exciting opportunity to get involved with a
local Philadelphia organization right here at the University of
Pennsylvania! The Lubavitch House is seeking volunteers interested in
helping to develop a strategic plan and brand strategy. The project
would take place during the Spring semester. The details of project
and contact information are listed below for your reference (an email
from Rabbi Ephraim). Please contact Brad Segal
seg...@wharton.upenn.edu directly if interested or if you have further
questions. While the WCC is not actively serving clients in the 2nd
semester and will not have the support resources in place as we did
during the fall semester, we encourage each of you to continue to
contribute to the community. You will have the opportunity to
directly work with the client and shape the project as you see fit. I
personally think this is a great opportunity to have an impact on our
own U of P community and hope you consider getting involved.
On a side note, we will be holding a Town Hall sometime in January /
February after we return from break to celebrate all of the great work
you did this year. We will have more details on the exact date, time,
and location shortly. Stay tuned….
Best,
Stephanie

Spring Project Opportunity: The Lubavitch House (www.lubavitchhouse.com)
Prospective Volunteer,
The Lubavitch House is a non-profit whose mission is to educate
members of the Jewish community about the beauty and power of their
heritage on their own terms. The organization supports a variety of
programs that connect Penn students with local alumni and members of
the community through education, mentorship, and service.
In Spring 2011, the Lubavitch House will be opening the Perelman
Center for Jewish Life, its new community center, just off Penn’s
Campus. In conjunction with the launch, we are seeking a group of 5-6
students to help us create a strategic plan and brand the Perelman
Center.
The strategic plan would include a thorough review of existing
programming and marketing initiatives to determine how to maximize
impact of our resources and to develop a long-term fundraising plan.
Examples include creating a process for interviewing our major
stakeholders in Philly and NYC (i.e. donors, mentors, or other
supporters/alumni) to strengthen their involvement and use their
feedback for furthering a foundation of support. The branding of the
new center will depend on the recommendations from the strategic plan.
We envision this as a WCC-type project for the Spring semester,
running from Jan – April with a similar commitment (~3-5 hours/week).
The student team will work closely with myself, our current directors,
and our alumni advisory board.
This is a very exciting time in our 30-year history as the strategic
plan will form the foundation for our organization going forward.
Please contact myself or Brad Segal (seg...@wharton.upenn.edu), our
MBA coordinator, if you are interested in participating.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Ephraim Levin

Best,
Stephanie

I don't know if at this point we really have the time (or time to spare) to do in depth research on marketing best practices for museum gift shops. However, I did get some ideas for ANS from the survey that I'd be happy to discuss with whomever is interested. I think we can capitalize on what we've already done, instead of trying to go deeper, especially at this time of year!
I'm happy to meet on Thursday after 3pm (Katharine and I have the accounting exam on Weds night).
Hope you had a fantastic break - sure sounds like it!
