Just an idea: I don't think anybody is checking the whole puzzle anyway, so how about standardizing a subset of stickers that should really be checked? I'll attach an example picture for 4x4. Possible advantages:

- Might make people check more than they do now.
- Checks the orientation of most corners (easiest to accidentally twist during scramble without noticing).
- Easier to see because stickers appear larger.
- More space for scramble because image is less wide.

Cheers!

I've personally been interested in something like this, but we need to show that scrambles with a low edit distance will produce significantly different images.

With an example like this, if someone does D2 instead of Dw2 for the last turn, perhaps the orange sticker at FRd will be red and everything else the same. Depending on how much red stands out from orange, this could be an easy thing to miss (and of course we know that some scramblers will not check all the displayed stickers in practice).

Neat idea. When I'm checking puzzles with non standard color schemes, I do just look for blocks of color. I suspect that would be hard to do with this scheme.
