Urgent: AWID 2012 Call for Proposal

Dear WC, Magandang araw sa lahat!   I would like to consult the WC regarding sa nai-share si Ms. Mae last WC planning (rescheduled to June 7- proposal)  tungkol sa 12th AWID International Forum on Women’s Rights and Development on April 19-22, 2012 sa Istanbul, Turkey. They are currently calling for proposals among organizations that are willing to organize a session based on the following themes:   ·         Labor & Work ·         Militarism, Violence & Conflict ·         The Role of the State ·         Sexuality ·         The Planet & Ecological Health ·         Financial Flows ·         Access to & Control of Resources ·         Private Sector & Corporate Power ·         Culture & Religion ·         Global Governance   I talked with sir Milo and he said it’s a good idea if we’ll submit a proposal. JS will also submit proposals with the following topics:   Climate Justice and Reparations for Climate Debt: Feminist Reflections and Grassroots Women’s Experiences and Struggles (The Planet & Ecological Health)  Current Trends in Global Finance Flows and Implications for Women (Financial Flows) ·       Tax Justice and Women: Examining Gender Inequalities in the Tax System (Access to & Control of Resources)   Suggestion ni Sir Milo na pumili tayo ng theme that will not compete with JS APMDD para kung sakali ay parehas tayong mapili. I believe ang theme na Private Sector & Corporate Power would fit for FDC. I would like to propose the following topic based on that theme: “Privatization on Power and Water and its impact/effect on Women”.   This is open for discussion and any suggestion comments from the WC will be very much appreciated.   Paalala lang po na ang deadline ng submission ay June 3, 2011, this coming Friday.   Please check the attachment/s for the proposal format.
