Hey all,

Many folks on this list will probably recall that Walk Bike Washtenaw has previously engaged in some concerted advocacy toward getting the City of Ann Arbor to build pedestrian/bike underpasses traversing the Fuller / Maiden Lane intersection (see e.g. https://www.walkbikewashtenaw.org/emcdbridge). This previously culminated in a 2015 City Council resolution reinforcing the need for such connections, as well as a clause in the East Medical Center bridge-widening approval pursuing the same, that was ultimately derailed by MDOT.

Unfortunately, it appears the city is once again looking to de-prioritize these B2B underpasses at Fuller / Maiden Lane, this time by removing them from the CIP. This is in the documentation for the proposed FY2026-2031 Capital Improvements Plan, specifically the document listing projects proposed to be removed from the plan:

There is a public hearing at planning commission tonight. I believe the formal vote will come at a subsequent meeting.
