Earlier this month, we celebrated a major step forward: the Vulnerable Roadway User (VRU) bills (SB 617 by Sen. Sean McCann & SB 618 by Sen. Veronica Klinefelt) passed the House Transportation, Mobility, and Infrastructure Committee. Thanks to your advocacy and collective voices—we’re closer than ever to safer roads across Michigan.

Now, with the VRU bill package up for a third reading and final vote on the House floor, we’re calling on your support again. It’s time for one last push to get these bills across the finish line—a crucial step to protect Michigan's cyclists, pedestrians, wheelchair users, and other vulnerable road users on our streets. These bills will create stronger penalties for drivers who harm vulnerable road users, helping to close the gaps in Michigan law and ensure that justice is served when preventable tragedies occur.
