There are a couple of items to share related to National Pedestrian safety month / Walktober
First, have you even conducted a "Walk Audit"?
Join Pittsfield Township staff on a walking safety audit of Carpenter Rd. on Sunday October 19th, 2pm-5pm
https://www.pittsfield-mi.gov/2404/Safe-Sound-Month
Second, MDOT (Maryland, not Michigan Department of Transportation) is hosting a series of Walkinars to educate pedestrians and encourage participation in civic processes
Join us every Thursday during October from 10:30 a.m. to noon for one of our five free Walkinars:
October 2 – National and Local Impact: Walking, Health, and Communities -
Register
October 9 – Safety: Designing Walkable Communities for All -
Register
October 16 – Accessibility: How Transportation Trails Improve Community Access -
