Fwd: Ecology Center Bill McKibben event - November 11 at Rackham Auditorium

Dear Colleague,
The Ecology Center is bringing Bill McKibben to Ann Arbor on November 11th for our annual fall event. This is a fundraising event for us, but we’d like it to be something even bigger and better for the community. We’re hoping that McKibben’s visit will further inspire the incredible grassroots sustainability movement already underway in our region.
That’s why we’re extending our special member rate of $20 per ticket to your membership.
We’d like you to be a part of this event, too. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the local action happening around McKibben’s message (not to mention a way to promote your work to hundreds of potential supporters!) However, space is limited at Rackham Auditorium and we can’t possibly include all of our colleagues. So we are making the information tables in the lobby available before the event and during the post-event reception and book signing to the first five organizations with 25 or more members who purchase tickets at the reduced membership rate.
Please ask your supporters to specify which organization they are a part of when they make their purchase to make sure you get credit!

People are starting to recognize the necessity of local economies and addressing the climate crisis; not just in Ann Arbor and southeast Michigan, but in communities all around the world. Bill McKibben has been writing about this movement for twenty years, and he’s become a leading organizer for a sustainable future. McKibben founded 350.org, devoted to finding solutions to climate change; their October 24 International Day of Climate Action has inspired over 4,000 actions in 170 countries. We’re delighted to have him join us in Ann Arbor three weeks from now, and we hope his visit will spark all sorts of new action here!

Just to clarify; it sounds like we are not sure whether folks tending
the WBWC table will have to pay $20 to get in. I might be able to
help tend the table but not sure I can spend the $20. Any prospective
volunteers might need to know this.
