At WBS Connect, our commitment to customer satisfaction is unparalleled. We strive to delight our clients, and that’s just what we did recently for Blip.TV, a prominent web-based distributor of video programming.
Blip.tv is an IP Transit customer of WBS Connect’s ASN 19080. Very early on a Friday morning, Jing Lee, Senior Systems Administrator with Blip.tv contacted our Network Operations Center (NOC). Their circuit was down in New York. WBS Connect engineers discovered that Blip.tv’s port was down due to a complete failure of their 10 Gigabit Ethernet line card. It being Friday, a replacement card would likely not arrive until Monday, meaning Blip’s service would be down for the entire weekend, an unimaginable situation. WBS Connect stepped up and loaned Blip.tv one of their own 10GE line cards to get them back up and running.
“WBS Connect went far beyond what was required of them as an ISP (Internet Service Provider). We experienced a massive hardware failure on one of our core routers at 3 AM in the morning – and WBS Connect stepped up big time to save the day,” said Lee. “They could have easily just left us to deal with the issue and still been within their rights. It would’ve taken us more than 24 hours to get it resolved - instead, we were back up before 8 AM!”
