I just heard that Dan Ingram passed away at age 83. Talkers magazine reports that his passing comes after years of battling various health issues. He was living in Florida. They also credit him with being probably the greatest top 40 personality in the history of the format, a sentiment with which I agree wholeheartedly. Many of us will remember that his sound was our goal when WBRU was doing its top 40 format. RIP, Big Dan.

I second that emotion.  The NYTimes has an obit written by someone who actually seems to (a) have a grasp on radio history and (b) appreciate Big Dan's schtick. Good picture too.

He indeed nailed it.  Thanks,  Adam.
