IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM MISSION DIRECTOR

Dear parishioners,

As you may know, for the last several weeks, the Rockland  Knanaya  Catholic Mission had been experiencing disturbances, tension, viciousness and damaging groupism due to the premeditated  incongruous interventions and disorderly conduct of a group of unauthorized individuals in and out of the liturgical services. It became irrepressible and frightening for any normal faithful Knanaya Catholic who wants to cherish and nourish their faith and traditions in this Diaspora. When informed of the precarious situation  His Excellency Mar Jacob Angadiath, Bishop of the St. Thomas Syro Malabar Diocese of Chicago, issued certain specific directives to follow and mandated me to transfer the liturgical services from the Knanaya Community Center to a church facility where you get a better  spiritual atmosphere.  With the grace of God we temporarily obtained a beautiful facility for our liturgical celebrations and CCD at the Marian Shrine, 174 Filors Lane, Stony Point, NY 10980

We start our Eucharistic celebration at the Marian Shrine on this Sunday 7 February 2016 at 4 PM and there will not be Sunday catechism (CCD) in this Sunday since we are anticipating “Ash Monday ceremony”soon after the holy Mass. It is the official beginning of Lent.

The following Sunday onwards (02/14/2016), CCD(catechism) begins at 2.00pm at Marian shrine’s Social hall and Holy Mass will be at 3.15pm in the sacred place of Marine Shrine. We are hoping to generate a better suitable mass and CCD schedule at the earliest convenience. I apologize for any inconvenience you may have during this transition time and request all our Knanaya Catholic faithful of Rockland to understand the current circumstances that led me to take this decision.

May I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude and thanks, on behalf of the Knanaya Catholic Mission, to the office bearers of the Knanaya Catholic Community Center of Rockland for their generosity and kindness to provide the facility to the Knanaya Catholic Mission in order to nourish our faith and traditions. I hope our Knanaya Catholic Community Center will continue to remain as a common place to promote cultural and social activities of our community.

Sincerely in the Lord,

Sd/-
