We are aware that there may be people in the community who have been recently impacted by a death by suspected suicide. We are sharing this information with you in acknowledgement of the broad impact suicide loss has on our communities which reaches beyond immediate family networks and can include friends, extended family members, colleagues, first responders, witnesses, and/or acquaintances. 

 

Why am I receiving this email?

We are reaching out to you because of the critical role you can play in supporting our community.  Whilst we are not in a position to share any additional details, we ask for your assistance in promoting important resources and support options across your networks.  This will help ensure that anyone affected by this loss can access the information and services they need.  We have attached some templates that may assist.

We ask that you please be mindful of showing due sensitivity, privacy and care in this space. Unexpected and sudden deaths are reportable to the Coroner’s Court of WA who investigate where possible the cause of death. The Coroner's Court understands the impact coronial investigations may have on family and friends. To assist, the Court offers a Counselling Service which can help by providing information on the coronial process and making referrals to external counselling and support agencies who can assist with issues surrounding grief and loss.
