Hello,

I just tried to update some clients via api / wazuh_upgrade script but the error message stays the same:

/var/ossec/bin/agent_upgrade -a 756
Upgrading...
Failed upgrades:
Agent 756 status: The version of the WPK does not exist in the repository

The downloads here are not working either.
Could someone take a look please.

kind regards

Marco

Hello Marco, Franck, Stevenes Donato!

Yes, the remote agent upgrade feature is temporarily unavailable in Wazuh version 4.7: https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/user-manual/agents/remote-upgrading/index.html

Our team is actively working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, and understanding the importance of keeping your Wazuh agents up-to-date, you may explore alternative options for local upgrades. You can find detailed instructions on local agent upgrades in our documentation: https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/upgrade-guide/wazuh-agent/index.html

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your patience as we work towards a swift resolution.

Regards!

Hi there,

OK that is why :-)

It was just strange because I could update most of my agents a few days days after the release but not the remaining ones.
About Windows, is there a way to deploy the agent via Group Policies? I'm interested since a while to do so.

For that we need of course an msi file but we also need a transformation mst file to give it the basic instructions (server, group, key).

Did you already looked at this to make it possible?
(honestly my knowledge is small on this, I know we can create mst file with some 3rd party tools, but that's it)

Otherwise, I'll wait until you solve the auto deployment :-)
Thanks for the quick reply.

Kind regards
Franck

Hi Franck!
You may take a look at this guide for deploying Wazuh with GPO. However, notice that the guide is quite old, and at least the deployment variables used there are outdated. The current ones are listed here: https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/user-manual/deployment-variables/deployment-variables-windows.html
And of course, you can check out the release notes for v4.7 to evaluate your urgency for this version.

We are working hard to fix the remote upgrade and plan to include them again soon. We appreciate your patience.

Regards!
