Hello,

Is it possible to use a remote MariaDB server for Wazuh?

I saw that only MySQL and PostgreSQL was compatible, but MariaDB being a fork of MySQL I thought maybe it works?

HI Cyprien,

Unfortunately, the next issue is blocking the feature that allows storing alerts on databases https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/issues/14081 since v4.1.0.

On the other hand, I found this feature too difficult to use since the only way to get Postgre or MySQL is from an installation from sources (see https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/user-manual/manager/manual-database-output.html), since wazuh-packages repository does not support (on an easy way) setting custom flags, so I'll create an issue to simplify this.

Finally, IMO MariaDB will have no problem receiving data from wazuh-dbd daemon (responsible for sending alerts to the DB), but first, we need to solve the blocking issue.

Regards,
Nicolas
