Hi,

To create a new user in Wazuh, follow the steps below. Ensure you are logged in as the default admin user, as other users do not have the privilege to create new users.

Creating an Admin User:

  1. Click the upper-left menu icon ☰ on the Wazuh Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Index Management > Security > Internal Users.
  3. Click Create Internal User in the top-right corner.
  4. Enter the username and password, then click Create User.

Assigning a Role:
  1. Click the upper-left menu icon ☰.
  2. Navigate to Index Management > Security > Roles.
  3. Click Create Role in the top-right corner.
  4. Search for the all_access role in the roles list and select it to open its details.
  5. Click Duplicate Role, assign a new name to the duplicated role, and click Create.
  6. Select the newly created role.
  7. Go to the Mapped Users tab and click Manage Mapping.
  8. Add the user created earlier and click Map.

Mapping the User with Wazuh:
  1. Click the upper-left menu icon ☰ on the Wazuh Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Server Management > Security > Roles Mapping.
  3. Click Create Role Mapping and complete the fields as follows:
    • Role Mapping Name: Assign a name.
    • Roles: Select administrator.
    • Internal Users: Select the internal user you created earlier.
  4. Click Save Role Mapping to save and map the user with Wazuh.

Final Steps:
  1. Ensure that run_as is set to true in the /usr/share/wazuh-dashboard/data/wazuh/config/wazuh.yml configuration file.
  2. Restart the Wazuh Dashboard service.
  3. Clear your browser cache and cookies for the changes to take effect.

You can refer to the Wazuh RBAC Documentation for additional details.

If you want to create a user with read only access you can refer Wazuh documentation for creating readonly user.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification.

Regards,
