Hi Taddee, let's see if we can help you with your query.
- A server part: where the services that store the information are executed, configurations are defined and policies are configured.
- A client part: which is the agent that is installed on each computer (server, desktop, network device, raspberry pi, etc) that wants to be managed.
Both components work together, so you need both for the wazuh solution to work properly. This is described in much more detail in the
Architecture section of our documentation.
With this in mind, you can install the Wazuh server on any operating system that meets the requirements and is compatible, you can see the list
here. The installation of Wazuh Server services can be done in the same computer or in different servers
depending on your needs.
Regarding your question, you can install Wazuh server services on your computer and connect an agent that is on the internet without problems. The only thing you must keep in mind is that your agents must be able to access the IP address or hostname of your computer through the
ports indicated in the documentation.
If you have any other questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact us so we can help you solve it.
Thanks,
