wazuh install error

Hi everyone

i got this error when i install ossec on ubuntu server

 Error 0x5.

 Building error. Unable to finish the installation.

any idea?

Hi Aytekin,

Have you installed all the needed dependencies to compile the wazuh-manager from sources? 

If not, you can check all the necessary dependencies as well as the steps to install the wazuh-manager in our official documentation. 

Don't hesitate to ask again if your problem persists.

Hello Aytekin,

Have you followed the steps of how to install the wazuh-manager? 

Yo need to install all the dependencies before trying to use the install.sh script or it will fail.

Could you please execute the following command and try again?

# apt-get install python gcc make libc6-dev curl policycoreutils automake autoconf libtool

I need more information about your environment in order to help you. If you can answer the following questions it would be really helpful.

- What version of wazuh-manager are you trying to install?

- Could you please send us the complete output of the install.sh script execution?

- What version of Ubuntu Server are you using?

Hi Aytekin,

I've installed the same version in the same operating system without failure. 

It looks like a permission problem, so can you execute please the following command?

# stat /path/to/wazuh/src/analysisd/compiled_rules/register_rule.sh

The permissions should be 0775/-rwxrwxr-x. 

Do you have full permissions in the directory where you're using the install.sh script? Also, can you paste here the output of the following command from inside the Wazuh repository?

# git branch

Hi Aytekin,

You should install only one option.

I suggest you install the one that best suits your needs but if your operating system supports Systemd, I recommend you to use it.
