Daily I get emails from the cron daemon saying

"Couldn't open file /var/lib/aide/please-dont-call-aide-without-parameters/aide.db for reading"

Is this something to do with with Wazuh? I can't find any cron jobs that are related to aide.

Hi Barry,

Looks like it's not a problem related to Wazuh's environment. Rather it seems like a problem with the AIDE software, which is a HIDS that does file integrity checks, functionality that also performs Wazuh in addition to threat detection, and incident response and compliance among others.

There doesn't seem to be any problem with having both of them running on the same system, although it may be unnecessary as Wazuh perfectly covers that point.

Even so, if you need to have it installed for some reason, and considering your problem, if your OS is Ubuntu it seems that the issue is related to how the service starts in the new versions of this system.

If you have any other doubt do not hesitate to ask.

Regards,
Juan Carlos
