Hello,

As Wazuh 4.4 has a vulnerability, we want to update existing Wazuh v4.4 to Wazuh v4.14.

Is it possible to do this update directly?

Would you please provide us the step by step procedure to do this?

Thank you.

Hi  Reazul

Yes, you can upgrade directly from Wazuh 4.4 to Wazuh 4.14.

However, because there have been many changes between 4.4 and 4.14, it is important to:

Back up your environment (manager configs, indexer data, dashboard config). https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/migration-guide/creating/wazuh-central-components.html

Test the upgrade in a staging environment if possible.

Refer to https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/upgrade-guide/upgrading-central-components.html

Thank you Stuti for the update.

So what about offline migration?

Yes, offline migration is possible. You can take a backup by following
Backup: https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/migration-guide/creating/wazuh-central-components.html
Restore: https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/migration-guide/restoring/wazuh-central-components.html

However, it is not recommended to migrate between different versions. Many changes have been introduced after 4.4, and because of this, data created on 4.4 may not work correctly with newer versions such as 4.14. This mainly affects indexer data, internal databases, and related metadata.

I recommend
Firstly, to migrate the environment using the same Wazuh version.
Then, confirm that everything is working properly on the new server
Lastly, perform the version upgrade only after the migration is completed.

This helps avoid data issues and service problems.
