Wazuh Agent instllation in FreeBSD OS?

Anyone would help me to install wazuh agent in FreeBSD OS?

Hi Veno,

The Wazuh agent is not officially supported by our QA process but you may install it from sources following the instructions for installing from sources for Linux: https://documentation.wazuh.com/current/deployment-options/wazuh-from-sources/wazuh-agent/index.html

I tried it and it worked, for that, first I had to install gmake, cmake and perl5:

pkg install gmake

pkg install cmake

pkg install perl5

Then, ./install.sh

Thanks for your timely reply. It worked!.

Would you mind help me with exporting as package (.deb, .rpm or any other format that will be unpacked and get install on another FreeBSD machines). 

I searched and came up with wazuh-package. But it seems like it is not supported for FreeBSD OS.

Can you please help me with this.

Hello Veno

wazuh-agent is not officially supported by Wazuh Inc but the FreeBSD project added it to FreeBSD ports/packages and we generated FreeBSD binary package from Wazuh source code. You can install wazuh-agent binary on FreeBSD the follow way:

pkg install wazuh-agent

If you want to install it from source code you can use FreeBSD ports.

Hi ACM,

I have checked wazuh-agent. As you said it could be installed directly in all the FreeBSD machines.

But We have modified sources and added custom module in wazuh agent. We need to compile from source and build as a package.

Is there any support for the same. 

we generated FreeBSD binary package from Wazuh source code. You can install wazuh-agent binary on FreeBSD the follow way:

I'm trying to do the same things. We need to build the wazuh agent with the modified source, build and push to our local pkg manager.

Then download and install from the local pkg manager.

I'm having problem to build the compiled agent as package. I need help in that part.

Hi Veno, As Alonso said and as I mentioned before, FreeBSD is not an officially supported OS by Wazuh, so the wazuh-packages repository does not have the functionality to create packages for FreeBSD. To create packages for FreeBSD you would have to consult the documentation of the OS.

Regarding the workaround that Alonso shared, it is also valid, but keep in mind that it may not install the latest version, I did a test and it installs version 4.5.4 of wazuh-agent.

As we do not officially support freeBSD, that development was not developed/tested explicitly for freeBSD.
