Hi,

i am used to use rpm based Linux distro's and i see the RHEL is supported up to the latest version but oracle is not.
i also want to use alma linux or rocky linux in the latest version.

why are they not supported if they are compiled form the RHEL sources ?
should i use oracle linux 9.2, what could make the system unstable, hence, unsupported ?

b.t.w - i am familiar with the -i switch to bypass the os version check

Hi! sorry for the delay! You ask this because you wanted to install wazuh in Oracle and it didn't work for you? And if so, what version of Oracle did you have? On the other hand, if your question is about the packages that are installed, those are the ones to which tests are applied. By this I mean that although they are not in the package list it does not mean that they are not supported.

Hi Nahuel,

thank you for your answer.
i am asking this question because i want to use oracle\alma\rocky (haven't decided yet. all them are compiled the same way centos used to be compiled but oracle linux is the only one maintained by a large corporate and thus i get some assurance for long term support and stability and still get it for free) and i want to use them in the latest 9.2 version to save me the OS update process in the future.
since i am aiming for production use, i just wanted to be sure that using for example oracle linux 9 u2, won't cause such issues that i will have to revert to old linux versions.
again, RHEL is supported in version 9.x but it costs money that i can't\don't want to spend right now.

Hi Udi! I understand, don't worry, you can be sure it will work with Oracle 9.2.
Let me know if you have any other questions. greetings!
