I would like to share with you the new Acumen Fund Fellowship program that has been launched in East Africa and to encourage you to apply for it or to share with your other colleagues who may be interested. Acumen Fund recently launched the Acumen Fund East Africa Fellows Program. The East Africa Fellows Program will be the first in a series of Regional Fellows Programs aimed to further Acumen Fund’s vision of developing leaders with the financial and operational skills necessary to build strong organizations and the moral imagination to create a more inclusive economy and social system.
We are looking for East Africans who are passionate about developing solutions to solve some of the region's and the world’s most pressing social issues. We seek individuals who have a track record of leadership and strong business acumen, and who have been leading a project with large-scale social impact in East Africa, either as employees within businesses, public sector organizations and NGOs, or as entrepreneurs.
The East Africa Fellows Program is creating a unique opportunity for East Africans to receive world-class business training, leadership development, and mentorship. The year long program is structured as an executive MBA and comprises of five multi day seminars – including one regional trip – and culminates in an innovation conference. Fellows will hear from influential leaders across sectors, receive the tools necessary to accelerate their social change initiatives, and gain access to a network of African and global leaders who are developing innovative solutions to poverty.
We are seeking candidates with bold ideas and strong leadership capabilities which include:
+ A compelling project with large social impact that you have been driving
+ A deep passion and commitment to the East African region
+ A proven track record of leadership
+ Unrelenting perseverance, personal integrity and critical thinking skills
