Yes, it’s true! WAYK will be posting an application soon for this summer’s language intensive. We are currently in the process of solidifying plans for this summer's program, and will be officially distributing information about the location and project (as well as information about how to apply for a position as an intern) in the next few weeks, so please stay tuned to our blog and our twitter feed.
This summer, we are hoping that we'll have three WAYK internship positions that are sponsored by our host community. This means that those interns would have their transportation and food costs covered for the summer, and housing would be provided by our host community. While these positions aren't paid, the only cost for these interns would be incidental/personal expenses.
Once the application is posted, we’ll be accepting applications for a short time (about two weeks). Then we'll contact applicants to schedule an interview via Skype, Google Hangouts, or phone. Priority consideration will be given to applicants who are available for most or all of the length of the project (June 1st-September 1st), since, of course, it is the most effective use of the community’s funding. There is a possibility, depending on housing availability, that we could accept additional participants who are either self-funded or have been able to secure funding from another source, such as their tribe, university, or another sponsoring organization.
Stay tuned! If you know you're interested, email us (in...@whereareyourkeys.org) and we'll let you know as soon as the application goes live!
