Clearwater

training and events

Clearwater offers capacity building initiatives to support your skills, knowledge and networks in integrated water management (IWM).

We are currently taking registrations for the following events:

  • 24 February Water Industry Drinks: Join Clearwater and Stormwater Victoria for the triannual water drinks event. This is an excellent opportunity to network with stormwater and Integrated Water Management (IWM) colleagues in an informal environment. An entertaining presentation will be given on latest developments in WSUD / IWM research and you will have the opportunity to experience virtual reality WSUD water education tools. Two drinks and delicious cocktail snacks included in your registration.

·         17 March Alma Park Stormwater Harvesting Project site visit: Join this 1.5hour Clearwater site visit to learn about City of Port Phillip’s (CoPP) latest Stormwater Harvesting Project. This award winning project includes a 230m2 bioretention garden, ultraviolet water treatment system, total storage of over 1 mega litre and discreet grass cell access tracks to enable vehicle access. CoPP had to work closely with heritage requirements and a range of site stakeholders including sporting groups and the local school.

·         24 March Introduction to Integrated Water Management (IWM): Clearwater is excited to partner with the International Water Centre (IWC) to deliver introduction to integrated water management (IWM) training. This full day training will be run in a workshop style with a strong focus on case studies and peer to peer learning to build knowledge and networks for water practitioners working on IWM projects in Victoria.

·         2 April Introduction to WSUD Principles and Technologies: Delivered by academic leaders Tim Fletcher and Dave McCarthy this training will introduce you to the concepts of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and water sensitive cities, focusing on the WSUD approach to stormwater management. The session will cover the principles of stormwater management, focusing on how to set targets to allow for water conservation as well as flow and water quality management. This one day course will include an integrated practical exercises and a demonstration site visit.
