Water Prize 2010: Call for Nominations

| Singapore International Water
Week is calling for nominations for the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize 2010.
The Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize is an international award that recognises
outstanding contributions towards solving global water problems. This can
be done through applying groundbreaking technologies or implementing innovative
policies and programmes which benefit humanity.
The Water Prize is named after Singapore's first Prime Minister and present
Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, who through his foresight and leadership,
has enabled Singapore to attain a sustainable supply of water.
The Water Prize is the highlight of the Singapore International Water Week
2010 which includes Water Leaders Summit, Water Convention, Water Expo
and Business Forums. The winner will receive S$300,000, a gold medallion
and an award certificate.
Nominations for the Water Prize are examined by the Nominating Committe.
This Committee is chaired by Mr Tan Gee Paw, Chairman of PUB, and its members
include luminaries
in the area of water policy and technology. Recommendations of the Nominating
Committee are submitted to the Water Prize Council. The Prize Council is
chaired by Dr Tony Tan, Chairman of Singapore's National Research Foundation,
and comprises distinguished
leaders from government, industry and academia.
