Syntax for Launching Watir with Chrome Extension?

I know that the syntax is :extensions => but I'm not sure what comes after that. I have the .crx extension file that I want to load but I'm not sure how the syntax should look. I tried

:extensions => '/Users/macuser/Downloads/extension_2_5_20_0.crx'

but it didn't work. Please help.
