Peace concert - Palestine

WFoS is trying something new in the way of fund-raising. We are
sponsoring a classical chamber music concert to be given by a group of
Palestinian musicians (mainly) from a Conservatory in Nazareth and two
of whom who are members of Daniel Barenboim's world-famous West
Eastern Divan Orchestra who play to sell-out audiences at the Prom
Concerts in London every year. The purpose is to raise funds for
musical activities in Salfeet to be provided by teachers from a
Ramallah Kindergarten run by another member of the Orchestra to
benefit children in villages and refugee camps around Ramallah.
Playing a musical instrument and taking part in groups and orchestras
allows children and young people to develop skills and self confidence
which, in a situation like that in Salfeet, will stand them in good
stead as they encounter all the problems their community faces.
Even if you don't usually listen to classical music, please come to
this concert, bring your friends and relatives, and help us to raise
funds for musical (and perhaps other) cultural activities in Salfeet.
A flyer is attached--we have printed copies if you want them. Please
display in your local library, schools, colleges, churches, mosques,
etc. Tickets are £12 each, with a limited number of student tickets
available at £6 each. We have 300 tickets to sell, so please help us
do that!
