Peace activist arrested in Gaza

Urgent Notice to All ICAHD UK Supporters

Prof Jeff Halper, Director of The Israeli Committee Against House
Demolitions, is spending Tuesday evening, 26 August, in jail. After
being part of the group of international peace activists that sailed
from Cyprus to Gaza as part of the Free Gaza campaign to break the
seige, Jeff was arrested when attempting to enter Israel through the
Erez Crossing.

Inititally it was pronounced that he would be released on house arrest
however the decision was reversed. His court case will begin at 8:30
tomorrow morning, where he will be represented by Kenneth Mann, of
Mann & Co from Tel Aviv, which specializes in criminal law and
trials.

News media are expected to be present, including Israeli television.

We request you to please check your email over the next 24 hours to be
ready to take requested actions, depending on the outcome of Wednesday
morning's court case.
