I made a playlist of 1.868 songs that different subreddits consider "perfect" songs. The playlist is a mixed genre playlist of songs considered perfect by fans of the genres and artists. I have discovered new music based on their suggestions and thought I'd share.
I find searching for playlists pretty rubbish. Never a lot on their browse section and searching manually is very limited. Why can't I search for playlists which contain a particular song or artist?
The title pretty much sums up what this post is about. I've made some pretty funky playlists, which have been tested on friends and family over the years. I've put a lot of effort into these guys, including learning Photoshop to make my own playlist art.
Some of these playlists might have a couple of familiar songs, but I'm entirely confident that everyone will find some new music in every single playlist here. I won't give you any more filler than is necessary, just a quick explanation of the intended mood of each playlist - and its flagship songs.
I have spent years curating these playlists, taking out songs almost as fast as I add them to keep quality high. Somewhere along the way, I decided to collect all the songs that either didn't make the cut or didn't fit into any specific playlist. Thus, Spare Sessions was born. This is an incredibly eclectic mix of music, recommended for only the very adventurous listener.
As happy as I am with all of these playlists, none of them are (or ever will be) fully complete. I'll continue to add and remove songs from them in the future. So, if you have any song recommendations for any of these playlists I would love to hear them. Last note, I use Spotify so I will rarely update the Apple Music playlists, but I felt like sharing them since not everyone is on Spotify.
This is not the the place to advertise. Playlist placements, services or play/follower boost are not welcome here. If your looking to find artist for your playlist, you must do so without charging them.
To accommodate the size of this community only two posts are permitted every 12 hours. This rule ensures that the subreddit isn't bombarded with playlist posts by one user and ensures greater visibility for all playlists posted to the subreddit.
Only Genuine Request is allowed. Asking people to listen to your playlist or just posting your playlist URL is not considered a genuine request and result in a ban from both this subreddit and r/SpotifyPlaylists.
This, not a subreddit for promoting your playlist please head to r/SpotifyPlaylists instead. You also may not promote any services or external websites. Failure to comply will result in a ban on both subs
Just here to let people know about a bot I made! I was inspired by the frequent r/AskReddit questions calling for users to comment about songs. Now there's an easy way to compile the responses in a Spotify playlist. It's done entirely in Python, using the wrappers for Reddit & Spotify APIs. (fuzzywuzzy does use python-Levenshtein, which is compiled C)
As the title states, if any of you kindly drop your favorite playlist either an album or your selfmade playlist i would appreciate it. Trying to expand my music taste right now so any genre will be great.
Whenever I ask my Echo Dot to play my playlist on Spotify, e.g. "Alexa, play (playlist name) playlist on Spotify", it says "Playing (playlist name) radio on Spotify" and plays the playlist radio instead. It is very annoying and I just want to listen to my playlist without having to start it from my phone. Does anyone have a solution to this?
I know shuffling on this absolutely disgraceful app has been buggy for a while now, but I definitely have been fine going into a playlist, hitting the big shuffle button and it play through all the songs but the last few days, it will only select 25 songs at random. What is the issue??? WHY is this app so awful, you can't shuffle properly, you can't search a song in your library properly, it mixes up all this "device files" and stuff. I'm only tolerating it for the sake of no adverts on YouTube.
In other words, kind of like a life soundtrack! A friend was showing me his the other day and it made me wonder if anybody else has a playlist like this. He talked about certain songs and why they have a special place in his heart. So I thought, why don't I make one too!
If so, I'd love to know how much you feel the text info you have added helped you gain followers of the playlist and if there are any tips or tricks you could recommend when adding text info to the playlist.
I'm at that stage again where I've played the shit out of my main daily playlist for so long that I now hate it. I find myself skipping about 10 songs all the time before I find one of the few that I haven't overplayed. I want to just delete this playlist altogether and start a new one.
Hey guys - I typically just date my playlists followed by a random name. But recently I thought I'd actually like to change the artwork to visually identify what I'm looking for. Is there a way to do this?
Probably such a dumb question to ask in this reddit but I'm looking for a youtube playlist I can play on my TV or projector during a party. I found a recommendation to Hurfyd on another forum, a lot of his stuff is great but some of it is too weird or trippy/acid like.
So I know when I used to burn mix CDs as a kid, I would really think about what's a good "opener", and the flow from track to track, etc. I don't really do this anymore, though. I'm wondering if anyone still does, or if they just assume playlists are going to be put on shuffle anyhow?
And what is your ideal length for a playlist? I used to like the idea of just dumping them all into a genre specific playlist until I reach 10,000, however that's intimidating to share with friends and redditors. Personally, I think 3 hours or 50 tracks is a nice goal, whichever comes first. You've got a good selection of tunes but nothing so overwhelming that will make it look like all you did was throw in random shit to a list.
Hey guys, so I've been creating a playlist for other people to listen to. It's a playlist of songs that match the same energy as this movie we all collectively love. I know many people have playlists with hundred of songs, but how long do you think a playlist should be if you intend for it to be listened to by other people, and if it follows a certain "vibe" "theme" or "mood"?
Have tried some that I saw on reddit, and some on top of google, none of which allows you to click on the videos to select what songs you can listen to, or even autoplay to the next song, so it straight doesn't work
And if you wonder why I dont use youtube music, its because half of my playlist aren't in youtube music, because I think they dont cosnider it to be songs or something, so I'm stuck with no solution.
How do you organize your playlists ? Currently I have one big playlist (my Liked songs) with 3000 songs approx. when I don't know what to listen I just shuffle it but thanks to the spotify algorithm it gives me the same 200-300 songs lol every single time.
Hi, maybe I'm just paranoid but I think that songs are disappearing from my playlist. I don't keep a track of how much songs I have but recently I noticed I'll soon cross 1k songs in my playlist (I thing it might have been something like 998 songs). Today I found out I only have 993 songs in the playlist. Only option I can think of (apart from remembering it wrong, having only 993 songs two weeks ago and being just paranoid) is that some videos were removed but wouldn't there stay at least item in the playlist saying something like "this video was removed" or something?
I have a playlist I've been working on since 2016 that's gained traction and gotten quite a few followers, which wasn't in my plan but is something I'm grateful for. Spotify recently sent me the following in an email:
But the playlist was just called "Pop/Alternative" , had a basic description with no offensive language, and didn't even include a custom image. I replied to the email three times within the last 15 days asking for a reason for the takedown, with no response. I talked to Spotify Support twice and they said that I should just reply to the email with no other help, basically saying only the email team could do anything. Given the circumstances, I believe that my playlist may be another casualty of Spotify taking down user playlists similar to its own playlists in order to control the content, as was described in this post prior to its deletion. Has anyone else had this problem?
Can't believe I never thought about joining this sub earlier, but anyway, does any one a personal chill soft playlist that they don't mind sharing with me? Not looking for something that everyone has, I want want you think deserves to be on your chill/soft pop playlist :) Thanks!
So here I am... taking the time to do a deep dive into the music of games I didn't play initially, such as Ride, Downhill Jam, and others that were directly inspired by THPS like Shaun Palmer. There's some good tunes on the lesser played games and of course some stinkers, but they're all here in one ultimate playlist. I know a few obscure and not so obscure songs aren't on Spotify but I did my best. Let me know if you have any suggestions on some songs that are incorrect or missing.
I've found a lot of cool songs with this feature. I made one with my playlist with almost 500 songs and a lot of the songs in the new playlist were not only new but some were obscure. Some songs will be reused, but the majority of them are new. You can even create similar playlists with the new playlists to find even more music.
Does anybody have a 1990s hip hop playlist I can use? I have been wanting to get into hip hop from around then listening to Tupac, wutang, but I need a playlist that is motivational and shit filled with good songs. Pease drop a link or a title thanks
This has been a two winter project. I started with a collaborative playlist posted a couple years ago on reddit that was 120 hours of earworms (songs almost anyone would recognize). I have finally narrowed it down to just workout songs. It includes most genres and you can pretty much play it for any adult on random.
