Here’s info from the Recreation Department. Note the next to last entry about dog park. Let’s keep up the pressure for the promised state of the art dog park at the Grove Street entrance to Filipello Park. Another Winter gone by, but Spring is sure to come and planning is key.

 And let’s let them know that we need a direct entrance to the How Park Dog Park on Bacon Street now instead of relying on a neighbor to plow a path from the current entrance all the way across the park to the gate. Perhaps write to Peter Centola at Recreation; Gerry Mee at DPW; Mark Sideris, Town Council President; Aaron Dushku at Public Works Subcommittee; Lisa Feltner at Public Safety Subcommittee. I sent my letter and Mark Sideris said he remembered the conversation about entrance to How Park Dog Park, and I also mentioned Grove entrance to Filipello and that planning has to start now.  Lets keep up the pressure. No, the Casey Ice Rink not ready for use, but almost. Please remember, this ice surface is for Watertown residents only.

Yes, as advertised, I will be putting on the skates when the ice is nice and solid.

Yes, the Victory turf is open today from 8:00 to 4:30 so you may play your snow bowl.

Yes, the February School Vacation Program is still accepting participants, but if interested, please register soon.

No, the employment application for new staff is not ready but will be by Friday, January 22 at the latest.

Yes, please keep all dogs out of the parks or courts at all times (even winter) and feel free to bring your furry friend to our dog park at How Park.

Please spread the word that Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will be the primary initial manner to inform the public for timely information.

Our Community Sports and Games Program begins today at Watertown High School between the hours of 2:00pm and 7:00. 

Please attend the program at the appropriate timeframe according to the schedule below:

Elementary Families, Pre-K to 5th grade: 2:00 to 3:15
Middle School: 3:15 to 4:30
High School: 4:30 to 5:45
Adults: 5:45 to 7:00

You may register in person at the sight for this program
