Dear Super Grover, Welcome. You will get updates here and we hope that you will attend the next big meeting 3/21 at 5:30, Library. Details below as you saw. There is a google group for discussions if you like that. The Proposal will go up there in a few days. Sign up at watertownd...@googlegroups.com. Do you have a particular interest for dog parks? Would you send me your name and address so I can put you in a neighborhood. We are going to eventually convene neighbors as watchdog groups to keep an eye on all kinds of things going on in town.
Best, Barbara

Subject: Update: URGENT: Historical Commission plan to save 917 Belmont farmhouse; 192 Pleasant Street development; Dog Park Task Force change of time

Dear Sustainable Watertown,

URGENT NOTICE: PLEASE ATTEND AND LEND YOUR SUPPORT FOR PRESERVATION. Thursday, March 14, 7-9pm. Historical Commission. Please attend to show your support for preservation of the 1840s farmhouse at 917 Belmont Street. Hear the agreement between the Historical Commission and Beacon School/Walker. Only the front section of the house will be Landmarked and maintained to some extent for ten years; the rear part, some of which is original, will be taken down. In return the town will remove the demolition delay, end the move to make it a Historic District, help with fundraising, marketing plan, and finding a tenant (though the School has a veto). Please attend to lend your support to the preservation of Orchard House. Find out about the details of the Agreement. Help put Preservation of historic sites on the table.

PLANNING BOARD, TONIGHT, Wednesday, March 13, 7pm. Continued case of the proposed development at 192 Pleasant Street on the river. Special permit requested to build 14 residential units with stacked parking beneath and some to the side. Your involvement is needed in planning and development along the Pleasant Street Corridor. The Comprehensive Plan has not begun, so piecemeal decisions on development are being made. Check out the advantages and disadvantages of this development.

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR WATERTOWN. THURSDAY, MARCH 21. 7-9PM. MIDDLE SCHOOL CAFETERIA. Your input is necessary. All welcome.

DOG PARK TASK FORCE: Thursday, March 21, 5:30-6:45pm. Note the change of time. The Dog Park Task Force of Sustainable Watertown will present its PROPOSAL FOR AN OFF LEASH DOG PARK IN WATERTOWN AT THE GROVE STREET ENTRANCE TO FILIPELLO PARK. Also, Mark Sideris, Town Council President, will speak. Join the DPTF for a discussion about where we go from here with this great idea.
