Watertown Bicycle and Pedestrian Supporters,
I would like to invite you to join the WBPC along with the
Watertown Citizen's for Environmental Safety
(WCES) on Thursday, July 29th at 5:30pm for a casual bike ride through
town to support the environment (and rally around the oil spill
disaster in the Gulf of Mexico). People of all ages and skill
levels are welcome. In fact, people who might ordinarily be timid about
biking around town are encouraged to join the group as one of the
focuses of the ride will be to demonstrate that bicycles are a healthy
and safe alternative to motorized vehicles.
The rally point will be in front of
Donohue's at
87 Bigelow Ave. The destination of the ride will be
Saltonstall Park next to Town Hall at
149 Main St where
Phil Wilson and the Berklee Rainbow Band will be performing for free as part of the Watertown Summer Concert Series from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
WCES is planning to provide flags to pin to your back where you can
write a customized slogan/message in support of an environmental issue
that's important to you, such as "Carbon Free Transportation" or "End
Oil Addiction".
It's going to be a good evening.
This has been cross-posted on the
WBPC Blog.
