      Bhabani Pigments Plans For

   400 Ton/Month Chemical Plant   

 

Bhabani Pigments Pvt. Ltd.  plans to set up a Chemical Manufacturing Unit 

to produce CPC Crude having Capacity of 300 Ton/Month

and  Green CPC of 100 Ton/Month  at Karkhadi Village, 

Tehsil – Padra in Vadodara District, Gujarat.

Vadodara District, Gujarat.

 

As on  April 09, 2013  : The Project is  under Planning Stage.

 

The unit would come up on about 44,000 m2  of Land .

Out of this 33% of Area  will be developed as Green Belt.

 

IMPORTANT: As per the discussion we had last with

Bhabani Pigments Pvt. Ltd.  on 15. 03.2013,   the project is

 under planning stage.

 

The company is waiting for Environmental Clearance.

 

The Project   is Scheduled to be  Completed by

in 10 to 12 Months from the date of the commencement

of the project work.

The Main Scope of Supply includes:

Pullution Control Equipment:

Coal will be  used as fuel in boiler & Thermic Fuid heater

The flue gas emitted  from this facility will pass through Cyclone Separator and Centrifugal scrubbing system. Then these cleaned gases will be released through 30 m. of stack for proper dispersion of gases.

 

As the unit will set up adequate air pollution control system, the pollutants emission will be almost within the stipulated emission standards.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

CPC Crude

The solvent used for manufacturing CPC crude is Ortho nitro toluene.

 

Required quantity of heated solvent is charged in the Glass Lined Reactor from 

main Storage Tank using intermediate service tank.

 

Further heating of solvent is started and weighed quantity of solid raw material is

charged.

 

Addition of solids (Phthallic anhydride and urea) is done in phase wise manner and at

different temperatures. Once all addition is over, the mass is heated up to 2000Deg

C and maintained for about 5 hours.

 

During this reaction, gases like carbon dioxide and ammonia are evolved, which are scrubbed in 

a Scrubber & scrubbed water is transferred to ETP.

 

During the maintenance and later phase, the reactor condenser is cooled by circulating water

 through its jacket in order to avoid escape of solvent vapors.

 

The reaction mass is transferred to Venuleth type Dryer by gravity.

 

In this dryer, solvent is recovered; condenser and receiving tank are provided for this purpose. 

Once all the solvent is recovered & transferred to ONT service tank, the product in Venuleth becomes dry.

 

The dry powder is discharged directly into a VAT, where acid treatment in presence of steam is given.

 Acid concentration is checked and once it is in accepted level, slurry is filtered through Filter Press.

 

The product in filter press is washed off using water and then compressed with air

and then discharged in the trolleys. Washed water is transferred to ETP.

 

Depending on quality required, alkali treatment is also given, in the same way as acid

treatment. 4 nos. of VATs are provided for this purpose. After alkali treatment, slurry is

filtered again.

Wet product is fed to the Spin Flash Dryer, from where dry & fine product

 of CPC crude is obtained, packed and transferred to finished product Godown for dispatch.

The Necessary quality control tests are carried out during reaction stages before discharge from every equipment.

Green CPC

A eutectic mixture of Aluminum Chloride, common salt & Cupric Chloride is added to a Glass Lined Reactor.

 

The mixture is heated to required temperature. CPC crude is then added to the mixture and brought to a molten state. 

Chlorine gas at regulated flow rate is passed through the mixture.

 

After the chlorination is over the mixture is taken to a drowning vessel

where CPC Green separates out.

 

The mixture is passed through a filter press to get crude Green and the filtrate is sent to the ETP for treatment.

Crude green, water and MCB are added to a pigmentation vessel.

 

The mixture is heated and all the MCB is distilled off with water.

At this stage the crude has been converted into its pigmentary form. Now start washing with water 

and filtered followed by drying in a Spin Flash Dyer/Tray Dryer to obtain finished product.

Effluent  Treatment Plant:

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EFFLUENT TREATMENT PLANT:

 

Capacity  : 160 m3 /day

 

Plant will have three streams.

1. Ammonium carbonate

2. CPC ML and

3. CPC washings.

 

1. Stream 1 shall be neutralized with stream 2.

Copper is recovered as copper carbonate.

The neutral effluent shall be subjected to MEE. Water shall be re used in process by the

industry. Ammonium sulfate is recovered as product.

 

2. For Stream 3, ammonia stripping facilities shall be provided. After ammonia stripping,

the effluent shall be neutralized and biologically treated.

 

3. A facility of anoxic treatment shall be created to treat residual Ammonical nitrogen

content of effluent. After that the effluent could be subjected to RO / MEE to become zero discharge.

 

4. There will be some surplus ammonium carbonate solution available at CPC.

 ETP may require creating facility to utilize the same.

 

 This could be in form of manufacture of magnesium carbonate and ammonium chloride from sea beaten.

 Alternatively, with sulfuric acid, it shall be neutralized to form ammonium sulfate. Based on market price, the treatment philosophy shall be followed in future.

 

Effluent Treatment Process :

Acidic & Alkaline effluent from factory is collected in the Two Different Equalization Tanks.

 

Effluent will be  continuously agitated with air diffusers, where air is supplied with help blowers.

The effluent will be  pumped to Neutralization Tank, where the continuous addition and stirring of lime

 is done to maintain the pH of wastewater. Then after, neutralized wastewater shall  go

 to Lamella Clarifier Tank where the suspended solids are allowed to settle down and 

decanted effluent passes to First Stage Aeration Tank.

 

Here, biodegradation of organic matter of the wastewater shall be carried out by bacteria

(suspended growth) in the Aeration Tank-1 and for that oxygen shall be supplied by air

blowers through diffusers. Air blowers also keep MLSS in suspension.

 

Then after, wastewater shall go to Settling Tank-1 from Aeration Tank-1. Here the

suspended solids shall be settled. Activated sludge shall be removed from bottom of

Secondary Settling Tank-1 and pumped to Aeration Tank-1 to maintain MLSS and excess

activated sludge shall be sent to Sludge Sump by gravity.

 

And clear supernatant from Secondary Settling Tank-2 shall go to Treatment Water Sump

and finally Treated effluent will be treated in RO plant. RO rejected water will be send to MEE.

After RO treatment, RO Water will be reused/recycled in process, gardening, floor washing, flushing, etc.

The sludge from Primary Clarifier and Secondary Clarifier is send into Filter press. From filter press sludge

 & MEE Salt will sent to TSDF for final disposal.

Fire Fighting Equipment 

• First Aid Fire extinguishers to be installed in the plant area.

• Flame arrestors to be provided at all vent lines at solvent tanks.

• Suitable first aid fire extinguishers, such as, DCP, CO2 & foam type to

be kept in every plant area at  easily approachable spots and in

sufficient numbers. 

• Fire hydrant points with sufficient length of hose reel will be provided

at major emergency spots.

 

Green Belt Development plan in 33 % area and a scheme for 

Rainwater Harvesting have to be put in place.
